Java Central
Situated at 20 South State Street, near Otterbein University, Java Central is a large shop with a full range of coffee, espresso and tea beverages. The cafe also boasts a wide selection of baked goods and food.
More than just a coffee shop, Java Central also roasts its own beans in a facility in nearby Worthington. When you first walk in, you’ll find a selection of coffee beans, brewing devices, grinders, and other merchandise for sale.
Speaking from experience, the overall quality of the coffee at Java Central is excellent. Though, prices are significantly higher than some other nearby options. A 12oz drip coffee will run you $3.50 as of March 24, 2022.
Espresso Air Coffee Terminal

Espresso Air opened its doors at 25 North State Street in Uptown Westerville in 2018.
The shop features coffee from local roasters, including Columbus-based Thunderkiss. The menu features a full range of coffee and espresso drinks. Reviews make special mention of the Turkish Coffee and baklava.
Prices are about average for Columbus-area coffee shops. A 12oz drip coffee will cost you around $2.00.
Coffee Vault
The Coffee Vault is located north of Westerville, at 9 W. Columbus St. in nearby Galena.
The family-owned and operated shop is based out of a renovated a historic 1906 building which originally was home to the Bank of Galena. The original vault door is still intact.
The Coffee Vault serves the full line of single-origin coffees and blends from Columbus-based One Line Coffee. Bags of fresh One Line beans are available for purchase.
Prices are about average for Columbus-area coffee shops. A 12oz drip coffee will cost you around $2.50.
Starbucks
Starbucks has multiple locations in Westerville, including standalone drive-thru stores at 533 S. State St., 648 N. State St., and 697 N Cleveland Ave. Kiosks are also located inside area Kroger and Giant Eagle stores.
Starbucks is known for its sweet and creamy coffee drinks, baked goods and seasonal creations. Wherever you go, you know exactly what you’re going to get at Starbucks.
Prices are slightly lower than average for a Columbus-area coffee shop. A 12oz drip coffee will cost you around $1.85.
McDonald’s
McDonalds has three locations in Westerville, including 662 South State Street, 905 North State Street, and 40 South Cleveland Avenue.
Through its McCafé brand, McDonald’s serves a full line of coffee and espresso drinks. McDonald’s coffee is well regarded compared to other fast food chains and Starbucks.
McDonald’s also serves the cheapest coffee on this list, with a 12oz drop coffee costing $1.19.
