When do swimming pools open in Westerville?

Now that spring has sprung, summer is right around the corner. It’s time to start thinking about the summer pool season.

You can choose from two outdoor aquatic facilities within Westerville city limits, Highlands Park Aquatic Center and Westerville Jaycee Community Pool.

Highlands park Aquatic Center

Highlands Park Aquatic Center is located at 245 S. Spring Rd, just south of E. Walnut St. It is near both Cherrington Elementary School and Mark Twain Elementary school, as well as Walnut Springs Middle School.

The facility features a speed and body slide tower, a zero-entry toddler pool with a simulated-rock slide, a spray playground, lazy river and eight-lane and a 25-meter pool with diving well.

According to Westerville Parks & Recreation, Highlands Park Aquatic Center is slated for a May 28, 2022 opening.

In 2021, daily admission was $12, with a discounted resident rate of $6. Season passes in 2021 started at $75 for single adults/youth, and as much as $200 for a family of seven.

Westerville Jaycee Community Pool

Jaycee Pool

Westerville Jaycee Community Pool is located at 230 South Otterbein Avenue. It is across the street from both Westerville South High School and Blendon Middle School.

Owned by the Westerville Junior Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the pool operates as a non-profit organization.

The facility features the following:

  • 25 meter heated competitive pool with diving well
  • 100′ x 50′ heated pool with sections for adults and younger children as well as a giant water slide
  • Fenced-in baby pool for infants and toddlers
  • Instructional pool.

The pool is scheduled for a May 28, 2022 opening.

Regular season hours of operation:

  • Sunday 12:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Monday 12:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Tuesday 12:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Wednesday 12:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Thursday 12:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Friday 12:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Saturday 12:00pm – 8:00pm

Daily admission for those 4 and up is $8.00. Seniors (65+) are $5.00. Children 3 and under are free.

2022 Pool memberships start at $110 for an individual. Family memberships are available at a sliding scale based on family size. Members have access to members-only swimming times on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Other swimming options

Westerville Community Center’s indoor pool is open for swimming all year long. Admission is included with the purchase of a daily or weekly pass.
