WESTERVILLE – You better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, I’m telling you why:
Santa Claus is comin’ to Uptown Westerville on December 4.
The annual Westerville Lions Rudolph 5K Run and Children’s Christmas Parade takes place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
Rudolph Run 5K
The Rudolph Run 5K begins at St. Paul the Apostle Church at 2:30 p.m. Participants will run through Uptown Westerville, turn around at Cherrington Rd., then run back to the finish line at St. Paul.
Registration for the race is $35, children 12 and under pay $30.
Early acket pickup is available at Columbus Running Company’s Westerville location (50 N State St.) on Friday, December 2 (10a-8p) and Saturday, December 3 (10a-6p).
At 1:30 p.m., race day check-in and packet pickup will begin in the HER building parking lot adjacent to St. Paul, on the southwest corner of County Line Rd. and State St. Race and parade parking at St. Paul opens at 1:30. No parking is available in the HER building parking lot, but restrooms inside the HER building will be open, according to race organizers.
All participants must complete the race by 4:00 p.m.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finishers:
- 1st overall male and female: $150
- 2nd overall male and female: $100
- 3rd overall male and female: $50
There will also be prizes for age groups winners:
- 19 and under
- 20-29 years old
- 30-39 years old
- 40-49 years old
- 50-59 years old
- 60 and older
Children’s Christmas Parade
The parade begins as soon as the race is over. The parade route is along State Street between Electric Avenue and St. Paul Church. Expect to see Santa, marching bands, community organizations, and a number of other organizations walking along the route.
