Westerville’s spring 2022 hazardous waste collection will take place from 8am to 2pm on Saturday, May 14.
The event takes place at the Public Service Department at 350 Park Meadow Rd. Cars should enter from Schrock Road.
No Shredding services will be offered.
The following items will be collected:
Flammables:
- Lighter fluid
- Thinner/turpentine
- Gasoline
- Kerosene
- Gasoline/oil mix
Toxics
- CFL Bulbs
- Rat Poison/Insecticides
- Extinguishers
- Mercury/Ni-Cad Batteries
Reactives
- Pool Chemicals
- Strong Chemicals
Electronics
- Computer Hardware
- TV /Phones/Cameras
- Copiers/Fax Machines
- VCRs/Radios/Wires
Fats/Oils/Grease
- In sealed containers
Corrosives
- Drain Cleaners
- Bleach/Household
- Paint Strippers
- Antifreeze
The city will accept up to four tires per household. Latex and water based paint is subject to a $1.00 per can disposal fee. No disposal fee for oil-based paint.
The following will not be accepted:
- Needles/Medical Waste
- Asbestos/Propane Tanks (over 20 lbs)
- Ammunition
- Trash
