WESTERVILLE – A Columbus man was hospitalized and cited for disorderly conduct after police say he was passed out drunk outside a CVS.

It happened around 3:43 p.m. outside the CVS at 620 South Cleveland Avenue in Westerville. Two people called police about a man drinking vodka outside the store.

In a report, an officer said when he arrived, the man was passed out underneath the awning outside the store. He noted the man had a hospital band on his wrist and a tube coming from his stomach.

Police said the man had trouble identifying himself, and trouble speaking in general. The responding officer determined that the man had left nearby Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital against medical advice.

The man was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. Medics took him back to the hospital for evaluation.
