WESTERVILLE – Westerville Police are investigating after a photo of a person holding a gun was apparently taken outside Westerville South High School.
The photo was reported to police on May 26 by Westerville South principal Mike Hinze.
According to a police report, the picture appears to have been taken in the Westerville South parking on Illinois Avenue. It showed a young male hunched down next to a red vehicle, showing the gun to the person taking the photo. The school’s football stadium was clearly visible in the background.
A copy of the photo was sent to administration of both Westerville South and Westerville North, but nobody recognized the person in the photo. An officer watched security footage from the previous day, but didn’t see the red vehicle in the area where it appeared to be parked.
The last day of school for Westerville was May 25.
