WESTERVILLE – A chain of beer shops is planning its first expansion out of New York with a location in Uptown Westerville.
According to an Instagram post, Fattey Beer Co. will open a new location at 79 S. State St. in Westerville during the summer of 2022. That’s across the street from Dairy Queen, right next door to Fusian.
“We are so excited to bring great beer experiences to the region. We have learned that these communities love craft beer, and we can’t wait to bring incredible beer and a fun customer experience,” the post read.

Fattey Beer Co. was founded in Buffalo, New York, by former Buffalo Sabres Harbor Center General Manager Nik Fattey. There are five locations in New York, with two more planned.
Former Columbus Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres scout Bryan Stewart is listed as a partner in the venture by the Ohio Division of Liquor Control.
Fattey tells the Buffalo News that the new Westerville location will emulate the offerings of the New York locations. They plan to offer a selection of taps, plus hundreds of options in cans and bottles. Everything will be available drink there, or take home.
The New York locations serve chicken sandwiches to customers. Patrons are also welcome to bring their own food.
Fattey Beer Co.’s plans for Westerville do seem to be dependent on the outcome of the May primary election. Two liquor licenses are on the ballot as local options.
