Work has started on a new mixed-use development project south of Uptown Westerville.

Westerville Economic Development announced details about the project on March 18.

It’s happening at the corner of S. State St. and Oakland Avenue. That’s right next to the State St. Post Office. It’s also a few blocks away from a planned Dunkin’ store.

The development includes 18 residential units in three buildings, including two floors of units above 3,390 sq. ft. of commercial space in the building that will face S. State St.

Crews are installing the infrastructure needed for the project during the spring of 2022. No commercial tenants have been announced yet.

Two vacant homes, with the addresses 280 and 290 Oakland Ave., were demolished in 2021 to make way for the project, according to the city.
